Come with me down to the beach,The wind is strong today so wear something weatherproof with a hood and preferably waterproof, oh and gloves too. We’ll walk along the seafront and throw stones into the maelstrom, briney spray will splash onto our faces and we will taste the salty tingle of the sea on our lips. The cold wind will whip around our faces making our cheeks red and hot as well as our noses run; if we didn’t bring those gloves our fingers and hands will be freezing and you will need to plunge them deep into pockets to warm up, they’ll be clammy and wet.
The noise will be fantastic with waves crashing down on the beach a few feet away from us the sound is like an express train as it gets sucked back into the main body of water over the shingle. We will stand in awe and silence looking at the waves, we wouldn’t need to say anything, neither of us want to spoil the place we are in with mere words.
We’ll walk some more until we can feel the fatigue pulling at our legs and then we will head back, to a mainly empty but cosy pub for a big meal of Fish and Chips with mushy peas and a big mug of tea, (or a pint).
Do you get anything from this picture? Is it just a bit meh for you or do you find something rich and interesting in it? Please share your thoughts either way.
Moi…
You beautifully add emotions and feelings to a picture. Every-time I get lost in your words imagining your narration.
Thank you Megha, Glad someone else gets lost in those moments as well as me.
Reminds me of my holidays in Ireland, walking along the beach. Very nice piece.
Thank you, glad you have experienced this too.
I love your narrative!
Thank you. My imagination enjoyed running away to this place.
